I was awarded the Public Service Commission scholarship in 1989 and am the founder of Kingmaker Consultancy, Kingmaker Leadership Institute and StrengthsTransform. I am one of the first two Gallup-certified Strengths Coaches (Platinum) in the Asia-Pacific region and also one of the world’s pioneering coaches for Gallup’s Builder Profile 10. I am Asia's pioneer in integrating CliftonStrengths into my Solution Focused executive coaching.

In the past 4 years, I have brought the Strengths movement to more than 12,000 students and educators in Singapore. I also spearheaded the 1st ASEAN Strengths Education Summit 2016 and is presently impacting the educators & students from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and China.

I built my leadership foundation as an officer in the Boys’ Brigade. Between 2002 to 2006, as a chaplain, I catalysed the birth of more than 10 Boys' & Girls' Brigade companies in Singapore. I also conducted leadership development for more than 3000 university scholars between 2003 to 2009, specialising in cultural transformation on university campuses.

I am especially passionate about using strengths to train leaders & build teams for peak performance. I consult extensively with school & business leaders to establish initiatives & structures to develop potential. I also pioneer strengths-intervention programmes for Parent-Teens & married couples.

My StrengthsFinder® talent themes (Command | Relator | Strategic | Activator | Futuristic | Maximizer | Significance) have empowered me to lead several large-scale crisis relief efforts for non-profit organisations. I led teams of adult & youth volunteers during the SARS crisis (2003, National University of Singapore), Tsunami crisis (2005, Meulaboh, Aceh) & Sichuan Earthquake (2008).

My wife Yvonne is a very nurturing mother through her StrengthsFinder® talent themes (Harmony | Restorative | Empathy | Consistency | Adaptability).

My eldest son Yew Ann is 11 years old and is exhibiting Input theme as he readily absorbed and recalled every public bus number and the respective destinations.

My youngest son Tze Yu is a cheeky 8 years old who loves to explore food. His favourite 'food’ is books and his Learner theme gives him a great appetite for learning new things.

StrengthsTransform is birthed out from my Strategic, Futuristic, Maximizer and Significance talent themes. It is a talent development platform to empower the human capital in the fastest way, with the greatest impact and towards a more hopeful society; a mission worth dying for.

Kingmaker is birthed out from my Strategic, Futuristic, Significance and Responsibility talent themes. I wanted to dedicate my next few years to shape the values & culture among the next generation leaders, the youths, with great insight into their lives and their surrounding.
